Every year, James Halliday and his tasting panel pinpoint the best Australian wines, winemakers and wineries from a pool of several thousand featured in the annual Halliday Wine Companion guide, cherry-picking the high performers from a range of criteria to offer a true representation of the nation’s greatest names in wine.

Rolling back the years to 2016, Tahbilk was in the limelight at the Halliday Awards winning the “Australian Winery of the Year”. It was a very proud moment captured here with Tahbilk CEO/Head Winemaker Alister Purbrick accepting his award from James Halliday and with Rosa at his side.
The awards are a great opportunity to showcase particular wines, winemakers and wineries.

This year Tahbilk wines were awarded some amazing points across the board and we are delighted to see the Tahbilk 2019 Grenache Mourvèdre Rosé picking up 95 Halliday points which is something worth celebrating!

It’s worth noting that Tahbilk’s love for Rosé is branching out with a great selection of Rosé wine to choose from including Tahbilk’s Every Day Drinking and Dalfarras Sangiovese Rosé, each wine offering something different to the next.

“Australian winemakers are mastering European-style Rosé wines. Known for their pale, delicate, and compelling characteristics, they’re extremely diverse, and often named a party favourite complementing the warmth and vibrancy of summer. Many consumers won’t treat Rosé as seriously as it deserves. It really is a happy hunting ground these days, as winemakers across the country look at each other’s efforts and become thoroughly intrigued by what is possible. A great match for Asian food.”

Normally $21.95 Wine Club $19.75

13.0% Alcohol Enjoy Now to 2021/2023

Picked early to retain freshness and delicacy, we turn to a technique favoured in Provence, the spiritual home of Rosé, to increase the texture and mouthfeel of this 59% Grenache and 41% Mourvèdre blend with the cold juice, including the pulp and solids, mixed with nitrogen gas briefly each day over four days.

“Light, bright pink. A pleasing tussle between lively red fruits on the bouquet and mid-palate, complexity arriving on the finish with some spicy/savoury notes. Tahbilk is rightly establishing a reputation for this Rosé style.”
